Sacrament of Marriage

The Sacrament of Marriage is a seal on the love a man and a woman have for each other. The decision to marry is the beginning of a wonderful and exciting, if busy, time and has to be planned carefully and with the full understanding of the meaning of Holy Matrimony.

Through this sacrament the couple make a solemn covenant to live faithfully in a lifelong union caring for and loving each other in a reflection of Christ’s love for his Church.  Marriage is for the good of the couple, the procreation and educating of children in a close family unit.  The local Church Community will prayerfully support you in your preparations and in your setting out in marriage together.

As well as all the niceties or arranging the flowers, rings, clothes and the party, there are a number of detailed and legal requirements to be fulfilled before the marriage.

When marrying in our Parish, it may be possible for you to marry in either Cranleigh or Bramley Catholic Churches.
