Times of Mass and Devotions
We regret to announce that the celebration of public Holy Mass will be suspended in all churches from Friday evening (20th March) until further notice. The church buildings will remain open for private prayer throughout the day. Fr David will continue to celebrate a private mass daily (with a server to answer). At these masses your intentions will be offered – so if you would like a mass offered for a particular intention please email the office or leave a note in Fr David’s porch. Please see the calendar for times and join in from home as you can. To see Mass being celebrated from your computer please go to: https://video.nest.com/live/rnGBB2DbEn for this week only. By next Sunday a YouTube channel will be operating and you can watch from your Smart TV or from a computer. The video and sound quality should be much improved on YouTube. The YouTube address for your computer is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSu7XW8eUCP7gz7-rat_PFA Or search for Parish Priest Cranleigh on your Smart TV Fourth Sunday in Lent

INTENTIONS: Your intentions for your loved ones are still accepted and the Mass with no congregation will be offered for their intentions, please join in with the streamed Masses. Intentions can be emailed to office@cpcb.org.uk.
RECONCILIATION: Father David is making arrangements for the safe ministry of receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The Day of Reconciliation will go ahead on the 4th April according to the new norms. i.e. no large gatherings. Social distancing etc. A screen will separate penitents from confessor for the safety of both. Please watch this space for further info.
SPIRITUAL COMMUNION: St. Thomas Aquinas once defined Spiritual Communion as “an ardent desire to receive Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament [in Communion at Mass] and in lovingly embracing Him as if we had actually received Him.” In these times when we cannot be together for Mass you can be there ‘in Spirit’ and in your ardent desire to receive Jesus. It may be helpful to watch one of the streamed masses, or to become recollected in your place of work, or at home if you are busy for a few moments and think of that deep-down desire for the Lord which you hold within you.
It may be helpful to say a prayer such as this one:
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
