… all the sick and/or housebound of the Parish:

… all who have died recently, and all whose anniversaries occur about this time:

Margaret Kelly, Richard Gerard

TODAY [21 November] is the Feast of Christ the Universal King (National Youth Sunday).  The 11am Mass at Cranleigh is a family focussed Mass as part of the First Holy Communion preparation programme.

Retiring collection after each Mass for the maintenance of Arundel Cathedral (Gift Aid)

Next Sunday (28 November) is ADVENT SUNDAY, the start of the new Church/liturgical year and we will follow Year C, the Gospel according to Luke, for Sunday readings, and Cycle 2 for weekday readings.

The season of Advent has a twofold character.  It is a time of Preparation for Christmas, when the First Coming of God’s Son to mankind is recalled.  It is also a season when minds are directed by this memorial to Christ’s Second Coming at the end of time.  It is thus a season of joyful and spiritual expectation.

header_03.jpgSunday 5 December – is BIBLE SUNDAY.  As part of our celebration at all Masses this weekend, those who currently exercise the liturgical ministry of reading in our parish, and wish to continue to do so, will be invited to make a formal renewal of their commitment to service of the liturgy of the Word.  All readers are invited, please, to attend their usual Mass; if you know you will be absent, please offer your apologies to the Parish Office.  There will be a “catch up” opportunity for those who miss Bible Sunday to renew their commitment on Sunday of the Word of God (Sunday 23 January 2022) instead.

Bambinelli-Sunday.webpOn 12 December, the third Sunday of Advent (Gaudete Sunday), we will be following the tradition of BAMBINELLI SUNDAY as popularised by Pope Saint John Paul II and Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.  You are invited to bring your figures of the Baby Jesus / Christ-child (bambini) and/or your cribs (presepi) to have them blessed during Mass.

4th, 11th and 18th December – Fr Alistair will be available for Confessions from 10.30 until 12noon alongside Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at Jesus Christ Redeemer of Mankind in Cranleigh.

Pray Partner.pngFirst Holy Communion, this coming Sunday at the Family Mass we hope to introduce prayer partners to the families undertaking the programme, for 21 families and so we look to you to consider accompanying a family.

download.jpgChristmas Cards – At the Masses this weekend and next weekend there will be a sale of Traidcraft Christmas Cards and other small items.  Please come prepared with cash if you would like to buy some Christmas Cards.

3753883_1_O.jpg300 Club – We look forward to the re-launch of our successful 300 Club which has been run in the Parish for more than 30 years.  Every year people get the small thrill of winning a cash sum – a small bit of sunshine in our everyday lives.  It is part of the fabric of our parish life which knits us all together.  This may be as important than the pounds which are raised to support the parish.  To enter simply complete the form on the parish website Entries to be received by 30th January 2022.

Thank you for supporting the 300 Club – I hope to see your name as one of the lucky winners in 2022.  I trust you remain safe and well.   Best wishes Skip Koblintz
