2nd Sunday of Lent – 17.03.19
CAFOD Lent Fast Day was on Friday 15th March. The collection will take place after all Masses this weekend.
A huge thank you to two donors who have, between them, donated £6500 towards the Parish Meeting Room. This is so generous, unexpected and helpful and will enable our parish to attend to some other things more quickly. This is especially good news coming so soon after the Mission Presentation last weekend. A great response if I may say so.
Also, I am very grateful to the whole Mission Team and especially to Chris Houston for his clear and precise call to action last weekend. And, I am highly delighted to be able to say that your response was way betterthan I had hoped and is a great basis on which to build the various teams of volunteers we shall need to embrace this opportunity to build a highly successful, but also faithful, parish of all the talents. Please retain your enthusiasm and commitment as the more exact requirements are established in the days, weeks and months to come.
This week’s gospel reminds us that we are made for glory – and we have been adopted in baptism so that we can share the glory of Jesus who should shine from within us through our lives of prayer and good works. So………shine, all of you!

This Lent we are running a Talents Scheme in aid of the Cranleigh Parish Room fund. Our wonderful Parish Room is already enriching our lives together – but it still needs paying for.
To support this project, we are asking you to take a £10 gift envelope offered to you under the Talents Scheme and then MULTIPLY it through your own talents and donate the money raised back to the project handing it in on or before the Feast of Pentecost which falls on June 9th.
Parishioners will be distributing £10 gift envelopes at the rear of the church after Mass.
They can also be collected from the Parish Office who will also happily promote your talent to our community.
